Distal Radius fracture - RX Work-up
!!!! A good lateral view = anterior surface of the pisiform lies between the anterior surface of the capitate and the volar surface of the scaphoid tuberosity.
Measurements on the reduction radiographs should include the following: radial inclination (normal, 22°), radial length (normal, 12 mm), ulnar variance (normal, 0-1 mm), volar tilt (normal, 11°), articular step-off, and articular gap, as displayed in the images below.
The amount of acceptable articular step-off is debated, but most authors believe that less than 1-2 mm is desirable.
DISI/VISI:
The normal scapholunate angle is 30-60 degrees and the normal capitolunate angle is 10-20 degrees.
